Sentiment analysis

Sentiment analysis is the classification of a mention's emotional tone, from very positive to very negative, to track how people feel about a brand over time.

Sentiment analysis reads the tone behind a mention and labels it on a scale from very positive to very negative. Done well, it also captures the specific emotion and the intent behind the feeling, not just a polarity score.

It matters because aggregate sentiment, tracked over time, is an early-warning system. A steady mood that suddenly sours is often the first visible sign of a problem worth addressing.

GrowthMeteor reports sentiment in plain language, 'mostly positive, getting worse', before any chart, and breaks it down by region and platform so you see where feeling differs.
